Brea Morgiane was trained by private instruction with Eman Haddad as well as in-class with Debbie Poldoski. She
took a class from Jim Boz in Portland, OR. She was further trained in Hawai'i under the instruction of Maisha Birchall, who
she studied with for three years.
She is also a regular columnist and interviewer for Hawai'i Belly Dancer Monthly, which can be viewed through the links page.
She has taken workshops from Sonia of the Bellydance Superstars, and has participated in a Bellydance Superstars audition.
She now hopes to continue her training with Cassandra Shore. Brea believes that a bellydancer never stops learning.
Brea has performed in locations around the world, including the Art Bar in Dundee, Scotland; International Nights in
Hilo, HI; Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and the Pirates in Paradise Festival in Key West. One of her most notable performances
recently was at Cassandra Shore's cabaret.
She has led two troupes, one in Hawai'i and one in Canada (Arabian Nights and Arabian Fire). She began her teaching
career in Canada two years ago. Brea was the very first person in history to bring Oriental dance to Cape Breton Island,
Nova Scotia, where two of her students now teach. Her troupe, Arabian Fire, put on the first Oriental dance performance
ever in Cape Breton, and included the first male belly dancer in Nova Scotia.
Brea is currently teaching in the Duluth area through WITC and UWS, with a possibility of teaching Oriental dance for
credit in the fall through UWS. She is also offering ongoing classes through Yoga Tree Studio as well as a bellydance
intensive at the Comfort Zone.
Brea is hosting the upcoming Oriental International Belly Dance Festival at Bayfront Park in Duluth, July 2009.
She hopes this will bring dancers of many skill levels together to celebrate their love of dance!
Oriental dance is a great way to stay in shape and improve body image! Brea Morgiane is available for performance or
instruction in the Duluth/Superior area.
